However OP's health and safety isn't a frivolous matter, so he should address the lack of training and safety equipment in relation to the trolley duty.0

You were corrected by paddedjohn - and you came back and responded that you were correct and got your information from direct.gov - in rather a nasty way, suggesting that he can't google. In fact, paddedjohn was correct. You might have acknowledged that. You didn't. You argued you were correct. Your information, or the way that you read it, was incorrect.
Nobody said you aren't allowed to make a mistake. And the time of posting is irrelevant - if you are too tired to get information correct, don't post. But yesterday you were insisting that UK holiday entitlement was 20 days plus bank holidays, and that HR professionals and solicitors had told you this - despite posts correctly stating that UK minimum leave is 28 days which MAY include bank holidays. Today you have been insisting that workers are entitled to a rest break for every six hours worked. These are very basic mistakes. When someone points this out then check your facts - don't continue to insist that you are right, as you did.0 -

"Rest breaks at work
Workers have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day (this could be a tea or lunch break), if they work more than 6 hours a day."
Anything else you all can't google and click on a result?
MORE than 6 is not what you said
' By law you are entitled to a 20 minute break for every 6 full hours you complete in a single shift.''
Its not for every 6 hours its more than 6 in a shiftWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
That's twice Dom has made basic errors(holidays were the previous one).
claiming that you got the info from a website, quoting it, having said something completely different is.......0 -

The risks are crush injuries to you or other people, but it's not hard to work out how to avoid that even without training, but ask formally for a copy of risk assessments on that task, and training. If they don't have a risk assessment, ask if you can participate in it with a H&S person, as you'd love to help out like that. Personally, I've always given a copy of the latest risk assessment when I've had people trained for or assigned to a new job, and told them to come back in an hour with 3 sensible questions. Then I test them on my responsibilities, and tell them they are to pull me up on it if I forget.
As a manager, you have to be 2 steps ahead of staff who don't care. Only 1 step ahead and they'll crush you with the trolley.
Ask for steel toe cap boots with antislip soles. Cost about £15. If they don't buy them, go to screw fix and buy some yourself. No point in loosing toes.0 -
You might also want to check your pay.
if you usual hours are 4 1/2 with a 15 minute break, its likely you are only getting paid for 4 1/4 hours, even if you work the whole shift0 -

Again, I don't mean to be nasty, but I have stated I was wrong, and apologised. So please stop with the vile nasty stuff you are spouting - it is adding NOTHING to the OP's post.
I've even given the source for the information in case the OP needs it. If you carry on, you will be reported.0 -

I've apologised, and referenced. Any more and you will be reported.0 -
Hi, I am 23, I work for , according to the handbook, if you work more than 4 and a half hours, you are entiltled to a 15 minute break, UNPAID.
I went for my hearing the other day, told them want it adjourned because I wanted my union rep.
They didn't seem to happy about it. Perhaps I am going to get sacked for it, but will go through the correct legal channels to do it. So I will know this time next week.0 -

But you don't work more than four and a half hours - you work four and a half hours.
You need to delete your employers name. You can easily be identified from what you have written.0
