On my old Acer laptop I had to hit ALT+F10, when the computer booted up and shows the Acer logo, then follow the prompts for factory restore. Hope it's the same for yours :cool:0

My old Acer laptop (5500 series) included their eRecovery Management facility which is basically access to a hidden D drive partition where these options exist.
Access to the eRecovery area was through Programs.
More information was in the online user guide which was still available a few weeks ago for my old xp machine so I'm sure you could just go to the Acer site and search for the user guide for your laptop where full details of restoring to factory settings will be available.0 -
There's nothing in the phrase 'restore to factory settings' that indicates to me that the process will delete any data that you've added to the machine since startup.0
