To Combi or not??
Hi again - looking for advice on what system to use for a gas boiler. We have a 3 bedroomed detached house split on 3 levels with an attached garage. Our concern about combi boilers is that water gets wasted while waiting for hot water and it may not suit the layout of our place.
We favour a standard condensing boiler with an unvented cylinder and both could go in the garage area. Currently we have a hot water cylinder but assume this would go in order to be heated by the boiler. Also we are considering solar pv and trickling excess power to the hot water cylinder.
Welcome any advice about which system is best.
Cheers,
GerBill

Unvented cylinder would be far superior than a combi in a house of that size, particularly if you are using a lot of water and/or running hot taps simultaneously.0

If you have more than one bathroom and you have a high demand for hot water, then yes go for an unvented cylinder system boiler. If however you don't have more than one bathroom and demand is not too high for hot water, then you could consider a combi.0
