£100 incentive for Halifax/RBS has ended!

The £100 incentive to join Halifax/Royal Bank of Scotland and get their 6.17% is no longer valid. I joined them in May and after applying on the site and filling in all my details, they told me they’d finished the offer L. Obviously I then wished I hadn’t applied as it was a hit on my credit rating, but of course it was too late then. I think that’s rather sneaky as it didn’t say before you applied that the introductory offer had ended. Just thought I’d let you all know…

Not quite - the 1st £100 offer ended early but they have now started it again. It's currently showing on their website as valid from June 18th to Aug 11th. I guess they got snowed under last time.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -

First post of course got mixed up;) with BOS/RBS anyway welcome to MSE. The offer is now back on, in fact I have applied for the Halifax High Interest Account today. Awaiting reply in the next few days.0 -
I'm glad the word 'switch' is included now, but way back when this offer was first posted (it must be 4 months ago by now!) I don't recall seeing this condition or word anywhere. I was lucky enough to get the Barclay's deal and no switching was involved then and the conditions looked the same to me i.e. just pay in money/salary for some months.0

The title of this thread is wrong. It does need correctly. The 100 pound switching incentive is still available.. The forum would be okay for discussing experiences, but IT IS STILL AVAILABLE
Additionally it's a Current Account and nothing to do with the savings thread. Am I wrong here?0 -

it defo said it was a switching offer back then. I have found the press release from jan and the conditions on the hbos plc website. Also all marketing and the tv add said switching:
http://www.hbosplc.com/media/pressreleases/articles/halifax/2007-01-31-DoubleWinf.asp?section=halifax
"
The £100 Switcher's offer conditions:- To qualify for the £100 switching payment customers must open a new Halifax current account between 5th February 2007 and 23rd March 2007. All account openings are subject to acceptance.
- Customers must use our Switching Team to transfer Direct Debits and standing orders from their existing account elsewhere to the new Halifax current account.
- Our Switching Team must receive completed switching instruction forms by 30th April 2007.
- Customers must make payments totalling at least £1,000 every month, into their new Halifax current account.
- The £100 switching payment will be paid into the new current account by the end of the month following the month in which customers make their second payment of £1,000 into their account. This second payment must be received before 30th September 2007.
- Payment applies to first account opened only, whether sole or joint. Joint account qualifies for one payment only.
- The £100 offer is subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time.

yes current account only, not savings
the op was confusing banks with each other = ie RBS and HBOS0
