Hello,
Just posting in the hope someone could give their advice.
Parked on an Asda site this evening, not the normal car park as HGV's not permitted to use that car park but the site behind the store where deliveries take place. Notice on gateway into the parking site states "parking is free of charge whilst shopping at this store, this site is managed by AEJ Management". It also states you must not leave site, however, need to walk along a public road in order to get from this parking to the store entrance.
Made a small purchase in the asda store and found on return to cab, a parking notice on windscreen stating Civil Parking Notice, code 7.
Having been searching the internet the past couple of hours, it appears the best course of action is to ignore the notice until the letters start coming through but this appears to be aimed at registered keepers.
I can't find anything on how to proceed with being the driver but not the registered keeper (my employer) and most advice seems to be to avoid naming yourself as the driver.
Do I appeal and confirm I am the driver to ensure further correspondence comes to me rather than the registered keeper and if so, by doing this, does it weaken my appeal? I will try going down the complaining route to the store manager first as suggested, especially as this is the Asda we use for our main shops (usually in car not hgv!), we spend quite a lot of our annual income in this store.
Would anyone please be able to shed more light on how I should proceed or advise on where to look for more info?
Many thanks.

Well the 'Private parking ticket, old or new? Newbies please read these FAQs first!' sticky thread at the top of this forum does cover the lease/company car scenario.
Basically yes, that's what you do, as per the sticky thread advice about lease/company vehicles. BUT only if the firm are an AOS member (Google it and check first, never write to an unregulated non-member firm). It does not significantly weaken your appeal as we do know how to win at POPLA anyway, which is also covered in the sticky FAQs thread.Do I appeal and confirm I am the driver to ensure further correspondence comes to me rather than the registered keeper and if so, by doing this, does it weaken my appeal?PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thank you. Just wanted to clarify really as most of the info on there seems to advise not to name yourself as a driver, started to get a bit confusing! Many thanks, will follow your advice.0

Of course, because 99% of the time we don't deal with lease/company car cases so the main advice in the sticky threads needs to fit the majority. That's why I then (further down the thread) cover 'rarer' cases separately, like Scotland and like lease/company cars where the advice is different.most of the info on there seems to advise not to name yourself as a driver
AEJ Management are an AOS member I see from Googling - but they are a cleaning contractor mainly:

If you can, get a photo of the sign on site, so we can see it here to check the wording. It is important to winning at POPLA to know what the sign says. EXACT WORDS - all the terms - which is why a photo is best.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
