No claims discount

Hi, this may be obvious to some, but just need to know if a third party claim on my insurance for an accident that was not their fault, i.e. it was my named driver's fault, is it classed as a claim that will affect my ncd, or is it claims I make that affect it? My ncd is protected, but we claimed a year ago, again for my named driver, and there is a limit on number if claims in a certain time period.

Thanks.

Yes. The other side are claiming from your policy.

Thats 2 strikes if the no claims are protected. If they are young or inexperienced then the protection may not apply.

I think you need to remove them off your insurance next time around. Because although you still have your no claims your premium is going to increase.

You still need to declare the claims though. Upto 5 years...
