Son's been a silly boy

My son has been working abroad since mid-Nov, and has only now returned home. Letters arrived for him in his absence which we left for him to open, however, 3 of these have been PCN's from a local council for him having parked on double yellow lines before he went away. The first for £30 then increased to £60 and lastly £90 with a threat of sheriff officers next. He admits he was foolish  to sit on double yellow lines but did not receive the fines as he was away. However the council won't budge and insist he pays full amount. - Any advice or should he accept that he has GP stump up?

We deal primarily with private parking charges. Council ones are better referred to PePiPoo where they have regulars who specialise in council-related parking charges.
So refer there. You will need to provide scans/photos of all docs your son has received - both sides.

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
