Surfing using laptop, options??

Options
I have a PDA with a O2 data only sim card that allows me to download/send emails both at home and abroad.

I am now looking at using a laptop to do the same plus surfing whilst on the move. Don`t expect to be using it every day and when I do, it will only be to access a few sites I need to check regularly. No downloading music/video etc.

What are the possible options?

I have been into T-mobile, Orange and O2 shops.

T-mobile want £20pm for a usb modem and up to 3GB a D/L limit per month (which they say will be far more than I need). I have an N95 on T-mobile which may be of use, I need the large screen of the laptop so the N95 would only be a way of connecting.

O2 `suggested` it would be much cheaper to go to someone like BT or Tiscali`

Orange want to charge £80 for a data card and £20 plus VAT pm for 160 MB download imit.

Ideally would want it to work abroad too.

Any help, advice, suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Why would you need a data card can't you use the N95 as a modem ? Either connect by cable or bluetooth.

You can pay £7.50 / month extra on contract with tmobile for web'n'walk. T-mobiles terms and conditions are that you can't use your phone as a modem however it works with seemingly no consequences.

    Thanks for the relies.

How would they (t-mobile) know you were using it as a modem??

Anyone know where I can get instructions on how to do this? I have checked the N95 instruction book and can`t find anything.

    Thanks

Plug the phone in via usb and it should appear as a modem on the computer

I know of lots of people who use it this way and not one of them has had any problems from T-Mobile

P.S. T-Mobile's customer service isn't the best on the planet!
