I took on a part time job especially for the last olympic challenge, and that is what got me over the finish line. Can I still count the wages I get from that job for this challenge? If so, count me in for bronze please!
Yup definitely, it's a continuation and if it wasn't for this new challenge you might have left - so it's for the challenge and countsNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Count me in.
I will aim for bronze as I don't have much time at the moment for selling stuff.
I started at bronze on the last challenge and achieved silver though wanted to get to gold. Actually I may still get there - I will get 1000 Tesco points for opening a savings account and these will be used to pay for my RAC membership renewal and I am also due £100 for opening a BOS bank account. Memo to self - update spreadsheet by 7th July!!
Found it very motivating to keep a separate spreadsheet. I also kept a note of what I spent the money on e.g. an unexpected and expensive car repair which would otherwise have gone onto a credit card. Actually I did pay for it on a cc but used my M&S one and paid off the balance in full as I am saving the vouchers for Christmas shopping.
This will be one of my ways of getting extra money for this challenge - cashback, vouchers and points on essential spending.
At the beginning of the year I set up a spreadsheet to budget for birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations. I have been putting money aside each month so I am thinking that anything that I save against my Christmas budget can be counted towards the challenge. Does that sound OK? I hope to achieve this by using vouchers and deals instead of cash and by clever shopping (with the help of this site of course).
Car insurance is due for renewal at the end of the month so just off to see if I can find a better quote .......0 -

That's sort of why I made the second part of the challenge. Any money saved on Christmas presents doesn't get added, but we'll make it a challenge to stretch the budget you do have as far as possible.
For example, £20 but you get £100s worth of gifts with savvy shopping. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
