finallydebtfree!! wrote: »I always take off fees and postage otherwise it feels like im spending my own money to make money for the challenge (hope that makes sense) it soon all mounts up by the time you take off postage, ebay fees and paypal fees!
also I would forget to include the money in my normal budget as it would be something I would overlook when remembering what I had spent money on
I agree with finallydebtfree - the money you make on ebay is the amount the buyer paid you minus the ebay fees, paypal fees, postage costs and any packaging costs (plus if you paid for the item specifically to sell it on).
You don't actually have the price the buyer pays for an item to transfer/count for the challenge because you have to spend out on the fees etc from somewhere.
All I do is when I list items jot down on a bit of paper the listing fee next to each thing then add the fvf and paypal fees when it finishes/is paid for and then the postage costs and then take the total 'costs' from the amount the buyer paid me and that's my 'profit'. When my paypal account reaches £50 (after paying all the fees) I get the money into my bank account and then subtract the amount I've spent on postage and transfer the 'profit' into my 'money I've made account' and I know that's the money I've made and that's the amount I count for the challenge.
It's not really much effort (I've probably made it sound more complicated ) and I know the money in my 'money I've made' fund is actually money I've made and my current account isn't short because of it.

Did the week finish yesterday? I had some matched betting bets finish yesterday, so do I count that in last weeks?
I also had some money back from a bookie hit my bank account today...do I count that in this weeks?
Also, when I've figured that out do I PM Gemmzie?
Cheers...0 -

Made £38 at car boot but was a very slow day not even many sellers but that's the Glasgow holidays for you! Actually made slight more but the rest was in 20ps and under so keeping that for my jam jar challenge total (want to keep total separate as I'll end up thinking I've more money than I really have).
