Hi all
I had never given much thought to reclaiming PPI although I was aware that I had it on 2 loans from household bank. At the time of taking these loans I went into branch and had a meeting with an advisor who told me as I was young at the time of taking out the loan (18) if I took the PPI it would increase my chances of being approved. This PPI was given as a total cost amount over 5 years and added to the loan balance and was paid in one lump sum monthly figure. (I distinctly remember this as it increased the amount to be paid quite significantly)
Both loans have now been paid off in full one in 2009 and one in 2010.
The issue I have is because I finished paying the loans sometime ago I threw away the loan agreements. Although I have the start date and finish date from my credit report.
I also had an egg card which I took out in 2004, this was done via Internet. I don't remember taking out PPI on this but when egg was taking over by barclaycard I received a letter from Hamilton Insurance about my PPI agreement which relates to that card. So I must have had it and I understand that the egg application might have been pre ticked. The card was shut down in March 2012 which was when it was with Barclaycard,
My question is do I have a potential PPI claim and if so where would I go next in terms of finding out account numbers etc, or would the fact I have start dates be enough?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give!

Your complaint reasons are weak and unprovable. One may not even be applicable (egg). So, you can give it a go but unless you have better reasons, you will be reliant largely on luck.where would I go next in terms of finding out account numbers etc, or would the fact I have start dates be enough?
account numbers are needed for older accounts but less so for more recent ones. Name, address (current and historic if changed), date of birth and copies of anything that can help identify the product and your complaint along with the FOS form should suffice)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Ok thanks. A friend who has successfully claimed recently recommended i looked into it. But if I have no realistic chance I won't bother. I don't want to be wasting time typing letters and tracking down forms if there is no realistic prospects. Time is scarce as it is at the moment :rotfl:0

Send a SAR request if you are not sure , they will send all they have on your account send recorded wait at least 40 days.
Write with all reference to your account including name address if any changes update them on this, send recorded possible wait of eight weeks or more , they should write in confirmation of your complaint.
Two choices I have done with a relevant reason for complaint and have been upheld each time including Egg .Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0
