Transcom - Notice of Debt Collection

I received a letter today from Transcom. It states 'We have been instructed by ebay Europe S.A.R.L to collect this outstanding amount on their behalf.' The amount is £37.27.

I have never heard of ebay Europe S.A.R.L? I have checked my ebay account and there is no outstanding balance to pay and everyone I have bought from have been really pleased.

I'm so confused where this debt has come from?!

Plus the letter is addressed to someone else?! Is this a scam?

If its addressed to someone else then why open it ?

    Is the address yours ?

Shred the letter and pay the debt if you want to.

That is the correct trading name for ebay - they are registered in Luxembourg.

This probably relates to unpaid sellers fees rather than any dissatisafaction from buyers. Did your card expire leaving fees unpaid?

Have you heard of the person the letter is adderssed to ? Does it include an eBay username you have heard of ?
It is perfectly legal to open letters that have been correctly addressed and delivered to your house, as long as you do not do so with the intent of doing something detrimental to the addressee.
If you really do not have any idea who the addressee is, then shred it.
