Done Clean Reinstall of Windows XP - Now Broadband not working (Ethernet Problem)

Hi Guys,
after having a Virus, i did a clean Reinstall of Windows XP.
All went well, until it was time to connect up to the Internet.
I inserted my 02 Broadband CD as normal, but got the error msg "Failed Network Adapter" (everything else had a Green tick).

It seems to point to my Ethernet Controller, as in Device Manager there are Yellow exclamations/question marks next to it.

Do i need to reinstall the Ethernet Drivers?

My Laptop upstairs (which is what i am using now) is working perfectly fine btw, so it's not an Internet Connection problem.

All help much appreciated.

yes, you need the drivers installed for your hardware. Download the driver to the lappy and usb stick it over to the pc to install, the rest you can get once you have the pc reconnected to the router.

All those yellow triangles in device manager mean you need drivers for all those devices :)

Yes, reinstalling windows is the relatively easy bit and probably about 20% of the work. Then there is reinstalling all your hardware drivers (50% should be no 'unknown device' items left in device manager) and finally reinstalling all the software you want/need (30%) - also ideally patch and update your antivirus offline before reconnecting to the net but if you're behind a router you'll probably be ok....

Don't forget winXP is going out of support soon

If it's a desktop computer (custom built) you would go to that manufacturer's website.
If it's a laptop or branded desktop (Dell, HP etc) you would go that manufacturer. Make sure you know the exact model, and exactly which version of Windows you're running. Much easier to do this before the wipe!

"The Hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary Software". :/

    I got them from here:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng

I've tried installing them via the Device Manager-Update Driver route (using the CD).
Not sure what i'm really doing to be honest. Lol :o
