NCP Complaint Ignored!

Options
Hi Al,

I had an awful experience trying to pay for my parking at the NCP in Newbury park and ended up paying £11 for what should have cost me £6.50. I know it's not very much in the grand scheme of things but NCP are so money grabbing that it's more about the principle.

Basically I wanted to park overnight (£1.50 for the sunday + £5.00 for Monday = £6.50). So i tried to put this in the machine but it wouldn't accept the money and spat it out 5 times. So I then put £5 in and the display said this would run out Monday but when i got the ticket it ran out Monday at 2.30am........i woudn't get back to my car til at least 10. So long story short I paid over the phone (as by this time I had no change) and all was OK.

I decided to send a complaint to customer.service@ncp email address and got an auto reply that I would receive a response within 7 days. This was the 20th and I have had nothing.

I am reluctant to send the email to this email address again as it's obviusly being ignore and I wondered if anyone else had dealt with NCP and had a more direct email address????:(

Victoria

Most likely means 7 working days so they have until tomorrow to reply.

Probably immaterial as the faulty machine will no doubt have been fixed by now.

Good luck with that, NCP don't care about complaints in their car parks. The only time they have a mild interest is if its a car park they run under contract for someone else. At that point they'll listen just in case you go to the car park owners.

Generally they treat the motorist as a cash cow and don't care about complaints or refunds. They believe they are untouchable.

Just in the interest of balance I parked in an NCP car park in Colchester last autumn and when I got back to the car park (having paid for the parking) I realised that I had lost my keys. I don't live in Colchester (other side of London) so I had to get a train home to pick up my spare car key and go back and collect the car the next day. I was in a state about losing my keys and a very kind attendant at the car park arranged that I wouldn't have to pay for the extra time that the car was there and they let me out the next day without any further payment because he had left my details so not all bad.

Yeah as I said it was probably not their car park - one they run under contract (which they won't want to loose).
