Double trouble: overstay charge @ Asda

I have to confess that I did not realise the rules regarding these ticketing terms had changed.
Last I knew & saw on TV was ignore.....famous last words.

I am 'lucky' to have in my possession TWO overstay tickets for different dates in 2013.

Foolishly I have destroyed all previous correspondence from Smart. These will have been the initial camera evidence letters, requests to settle the charge etc etc.

I have Zenith debt recovery working on a charge for September & Debt Recovery Plus Ltd chasing one for October. Both detail legal and/or court action.

I hate that I have not acted sooner or thought to check for updates, rules changes.

This is the situation I am now in and would appreciate any help and assistance.

Given that it has been a while since we received the NTK (these were ignored & binned...I know, I know) and that I have 2 separate notices I need to complain to my Asda store manager.

Question is do I refer to both notices in 1 letter or do them each separately?

I would march in with both of them and ALL the rubbish threatograms, and a separate pile of Asda receipts or bank statements showing your family (friends?!!) to be regular shoppers there. Plonk them on the CS desk and demand to have a word with the Store manager about this harassment by their agent. Do not take the lie 'we don't own the car park' for answer because Smart are Asda's agents so we know the real story. Don't take 'we can't get involved' as an answer either, tell them it's well known on t'internet that Store Managers have been wrongly told 'not to get involved' by Asda Head Office, when in fact Smart are Asda's (unpaid) agents who leech off Asda customers so of course they must get involved in such a complaint!

I hope you read the rest of the Newbies thread though, and know about your options at debt collector stage (all covered in a separate post there). And how about complaining as registered keeper (NOT DRIVER!!) to the BPA and DVLA. E.g. if Smart's debt collector letters are suddenly alleging POFA2012 applies when the truth is, Smart don't issue those type of POFA2012 tickets, that sort of thing!

Thank you all for your input here.

TBH Coupon mad I read MANY threads, links etc & feel less confident as to which direction to turn. All the right info is there I just can't get my head around which soft option letter to use with regards to the signage at my Asda park.

Given that I have 2 notices I guess I need to write to Smart twice as I'll need 2 POPLA codes.

As I ignored everything up till now I have nothing to hand other than the 2 last monetary threats/possible legal action.

I have been foolish & since reading on here last night have awoken more worried than before!!!!
I'm not knocking the advice, it's all here, very useful I think I'm just in a frenzy panic mode & not getting it straight.

I'll read more later, hopefully with a clearer head but first I need to go food shopping......at Asda!
  • Dont panic, smart dont do court, just go and complain

You've missed the boat for popla.
As advised, complain in person, to the manager, not just customer services.
Back it up with old statements with Asda payments etc.
