terminals on pendant lamp holder

Hi,
Mains switched off throughout job for obvious reasons.
I had to replace a broken cord grip lamp holder on a straight forward basic as you like hanging pendant light in ceiling. The original had both bayonet bulb holder lugs broken off so no way light bulb would go in and support itself. My uncle had taped the bulb in place to get it working up until now.
Lampholder I bought and replaced looks really similar to this

When opened up lamp holder I found the brown and blue wires were in screw tightened terminals and wrapped around support lugs to prevent strain on connections at lamp holder. The original lamp holder had no Live or Neutral markings in any manner at all. The ceiling rose standard plastic type about 3 inches or so across has not been touched at all.
As said no markings on original cord grip lamp holder and none on the new replacement. As all the main wiring for this pendant light has been done at point where ceiling rose attaches and all that comes down from the rose is a single short length of 2 core blue and brown cable ending in the light bulb holder - is there any way to tell which wire is to go to which terminal - as said there is NOTHING to indicate which is neutral and which is live so assume can be connected either way.
Can anyone validate or contradict with explanation if what I have done is okay. I've simply connected a brown and a blue at cord grip lamp holder with nothing to indicate that the terminals not interchangeable.
My main concern is possible electrocution if I have done something wrong but as said all wiring at rose has not been touched at all only at lamp holder. Can find nothing online that goes down the path I have to check against and am UK.
Many thanks,

There's no difference at all between the live and neutral terminals of a standard bayonet lamp holder, so it doesn't matter which way round you connect it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I thought it would be fine as you'd expect if specific terminals necessary that clear markings would be there. Just put my mind to rest though. Thank you both.0
