Shower trays - resin or hard foam?

We're looking at replacing our bath with a modern shower and walk-in style enclosure. I'm hoping someone has experience of the 'hard foam' option.
The salesman today showed us a display by a company called Lux Elements which basically looks like a hard foam plinth which you then have tiled. It's meant to look like a wet-room.
Previously we've been told to consider resin trays only (for strength and durability I think) and this new option has surprised us.
Has anyone heard of it, or used it, or supplied/fitted it for customers?

I think it's really interesting that no-one has replied, and yet lots of tradesmen read these pages.
To me, it means the product is too new and not tried-and-tested enough for people to have an opinion or experience one way or the other.
I shall probably research the resin trays. Does anyone know a good brand? We are doing this for ourselves, not as a quick 'do-up' to sell or let, so we want something durable and repairable if there are any accidents.0 -
I do have resin stone tray on the boat that replaced a foam tray that flexed when stood on, causing leaks. Since installing the stone tray no problems with leaks. As for the make 'Wickes'0

Mira flight every time
Lux elements are just a wet dec , like wedi and marmox. Cement faced foam boards which always feel like they are compressing under weight. If its a tiled wetroom effect you want then I would suggest you take a look at akw tuff form traysHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Many thanks. We'll look into the Mira trays.0
