Just had a really good quote from a local double glazing, which includes FENSA but also GGF insurance backed guarantee scheme.

Cheapest quote by fair and am I right that if the company does go bust them the insurance will sort out any problems if they should occur.

They will only cover issues that would have been covered under the terms of the installer’s written guarantee and you can only claim from them if the installer ceases to trade due to liquidation, administration, bankruptcy, receivership or the death of all principal directors. You cannot claim if the installer retires or simply dissolves the business.

Also, if you pay using a credit card then you have to claim through your credit card provider and cannot use the GGFi to claim.

Some installers include GGFi automatically, while others only include an offer of it, meaning they are members of the scheme, but it is up to you to purchase the insurance at an extra cost.

Thanks for that most helpful - no its free and we also have a 10 year guarantee as well with the company on everything. Thanks for the explanation.
