Nationwide: In Branch ID Verification....I'm abroad

Hi
Nationwide have asked me to complete a "Verification of Identity" form and take it to my local branch where I'm supposed to sign it in front of a member of staff (and show them my passport).
I left the UK several years ago, though am still a UK resident and UK passport holder.
Do they have grounds to reject my claim if I can't complete this step?
I think I'm probably only owed a few hundred quid, so it's defintely not worth me flying back.

That will not result in your complaint being rejected. It just holds it up being paid until you provide a suitable alternative method that meets their criteria.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
