What a shame MSE can't sanction GG for being a complete t1t.
Mind you, his rantings do have quite a Pythonesque feel to them.

It is possible that the OP is being discrimated against. Being homosexual is a protected characteristic covered by the Equalities Act. As to the remedy that would be one for the lawyers to work out. On the other hand as already pointed out he would be better of treating his JC+ visit as a business meeting and dress appropriately. I'm not suggesting being suited up but rather smart casual. But then again if he treats it as a possible tacky pulling location then I've wasted a few minutes typing this.

Actually, it's sexual orientation which is the protected characteristic, not homosexuality. It applies if you're gay/straight/bi/trans/ something else entirely.

But personally I don't feel the need to go around wearing a T-shirt telling people I've been happily married for the best part of 20 years :)

Of course they are true, I would give you my tutor name so you can look him up on facebook but I am not going to do as I might get done by Job Centre.

I am not so sad as to use / want / need FB! I have a REAL LIFE!!!

    Another thread?

GG, I'm going to put this in bold in the hope that it will sink in.

    NOBODY CARES.

    EXCEPT YOU.

    Seriously, get over yourself.
If you applied a tenth of the effort that you spend whinging to looking for work you'd be a CEO by now.

That's better - He might see it now! :)

Because we live in a hetero-normative society. You aren't in danger for being married.

    What T shirt?

Oh, please don't ask....this T-shirt is the OP's idea of a wind up, because no one could seriously think like him.....:rotfl:

If, by some remote chance he is serious, he really acts like 'the only Gay in the Village that used to be on Little Britain - making a huge deal out of being gay, hoping that someone, somewhere would be shocked, all to no avail and doesn't get that bring gay nowadays is just so mainstream - nobody cares!!

    Lin ;)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

There shouldn't be issues, My Job Centre needs to do he's Job, not moan about my clothing of tshirt.

How can a tshirt cause me to be sanctioned, I can understand if I haven't been applying for Jobs, But I have done, I always bring proof in everytime I sign on, I think its just a stupid excuse to sanction me that's all.

Also if he felt my tshirt was not suitable then why did he wait for my 5 or 6 appointment to tell me, why didn't he tell me on my 1st or 2nd appointment, you see, Job Centre advisers make up the rules as they go along.

He probably saw it the first time, but assumed, fairly reasonably, that like most people, you had a variety of clothing and didn't feel the need to wear the same thing every day. :wall:

Aren't printed T Shirts a bit inappropriate for any adult to wear, whilst working, or even job seeking?

I don't even get what the point of it is - most of my gay mates would run screaming from anyone wearing such a naff T-shirt, and straights don't care what you do in your private life.

If you want a job, I would suggest requesting some sort of literacy course, to improve your grammar etc., and to just wear sensible clothes, when you are trying to get some help with getting a job.

You do realise most employers won't put up with this old nonsense about being allowed to wear your favourite T-shirt all the time?

    Lin :wall:

    Morning, everyone.

I do wish GG would heed our advice
It started with the vanquis thread
We all spoke good words, more than thrice
But GG, wouldn't listen with his head

Whoever he is, real, alien, robot or troll
There's still someone behind the screen
Whoever it is must think they're in control
But after all we've said we only want to scream

Here I have some advice for you
Listen to what we have to say
Brush yourself up, get a nice hair do
And maybe soon you'll have a packet of pay

    :T :hello:
    Oh, you wee bazza!

Love it! :D He has gone very quiet on the Vanquis topic, probably owes them £105! :rotfl:
