Hi all
I have just had a telephone meeting with a guy from iva company freeman Jones - about going on an iva - he said he was going to draw up the paperwork etc to send out - since I have come off the phone I now don't like the idea of an iva - have I just signed up??? I have signed no paperwork or anything

No. No signature, no deal. If I were you, I would give him a quick call back and say that its not right for you though out of courtesy....0

Oh phew thank you so much - so I have not signed up to anything? So when this proposal paper work cones through I can just shred it0

I will I just want to know if it will go through and if I said yes to it as I have not signed any paperwork he just said he send the proposed agreement out0

he just said he send the proposed agreement out
So it is a proposed agreement. You haven't committed yourself to anything at all until you see it in writing and sign it.
An IVA is a serious long term commitment. Don't let yourself be rushed into it! If you feel you are being 'hard sold', then back right off and go to another IP.
If you are thinking of an IVA your finances are presumably a mess, you may be getting lots of phone calls and letters talking about court action. I know it's easy for me to say this but there is no hurry here. Take a week or two or three over deciding on and IVA and if so who to use as an IP.0 -
You can withdraw from an IVA proposal anytime up to the creditors meeting - just give them a call and tell them you no longer wish to proceed0

Agreed - until you have signed the paperwork you have not signed up for anything.
My advice would be to contact one of the free agencies first such as National Debt Line, Step Change or your local Citizens Advice. They will provide free and impartial advice on what your best course of action would be.
Oh, and lastly, do give the chap a courtesy call to advise you will not be taking this up!0
