How to clean a washing machine??

Inside the draw for the washing machine (the one for the liquid is a right mess) I have pulled it out and cleaned it, but further inside the draw I can not get to, could I clean it with pipe cleaners?

Also someone has told me to put wasing powder in the machine and wash empty on the hottest wash to clean it as well, another person has mentioned running a hot wash with a pint of white vinegar in the machine, is this OK will this clean all the crap out of my machine???

Hi cheggers,

This article and this one should answer your questions. Vinegar is a very mild acid as we all know, dilute that in a gallon or so of water and it's pretty ineffectual as a cleaning agent and it does not attack bacteria particularly well.
