Hi All,
Has anyone bought any Bitcoins? Just wanted some advice I want to purchase; what do you guys think is it a good idea or should I keep away?
Can I buy physical or are they always non-physical?
I hear ppl trade in them too. any help or info and comments welcomed
Sorry if the questions are silly.
Thanks

Have you tried Googling bitcoins?
Personally, the fact you are asking whether they are physical or not shows you have no knowledge what so ever. It is not something that you should go straight into without knowledge!0 -
Gonna have to ditto that- asking if they are physical means you should really steer clear.
I understand the idea, but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.0 -
saw a story on BBC breakfast this morning about a cafe accepting bitcoins as payment
just a publicity stunt to get on the telly / in the papers0 -
If you're after physical bitcoins, you can buy them quite cheaply on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251422647309?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95
Virtual bitcoins are much more expensive :rotfl:0 -

Cryptocurrencies have a lot of potential (in my opinion) but you need to be absolutely clear: they are a gamble and not an investment. Only put in money you are prepared to lose, I've seen people lose a lot of money because they thought it was a get rich quick scheme. As others have said, for the love of all things holy don't buy in without at least a basic understanding...
Khanacademy has a good series explaining Bitcoin, it's well worth watching: https://www.khanacademy.org/economics-finance-domain/core-finance/money-and-banking/bitcoin/v/bitcoin-what-is-it
There's already a well established topic in this forum section where you will find lots of people willing to help you out with any questionshttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4513615

Did someone want some virtual bargepoles?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

What is a physical bitcoin? I thought the ones you buy like that are just small boxes with a crytpo-key inside, so basically just virtual like any other?0
