Solar Panels Fitted - Electric Bill DOUBLED. Help ?????

Hello all,
I am new to this but hope someone can help as I am actually being kept awake worrying about this.....
In Feb 2012 I had 10 Solar PV panels fitted. At the time my annual electricity usage was 3150 units for period Dec 11 - June 12.I was in credit by £220.
My new bill has arrived and almost DOUBLED from £76pm to £141pm , the units are now at 4600 for period June13 - Dec 13.
I have spoken to SSE who confirm my usage has doubled, but this can't be right. My young adult son left home in Jan 12 so our bill should have reduced ( not as much washing /drying / gaming!). I have used the guides to show what each appliance uses and a generous reckoning puts our usage at 80 - 90 units per week.
We are very energy conscious and so are mindful of what we use.
My neighbour pays £40 per month, has similar usage and no solar panels.
We earn around £1000 pa from the FIT scheme, but how on earth has our usage DOUBLED ???? Please can anyone help me get to the bottom of this as it is really worrying me - not least because I cannot afford such a hike in payments.
Feeling sick with worry

one thought that springs to mind is a meter problem. ive heard the meters can actually clock up, not down, if you start exporting to the grid. time to get the installer back to check, on a sunny day
. you could check it yourself, by turning everything off indoors and watching the meters, if they slowly clock up your actually paying for the electric your exporting. 0
