Please can anyone help me??
I used a PPI calims management company to look into if I had any PPI that I could claim back. From the begining I said to them that i was unsure if I did have PPI, with there responce saying for me to list all of my accounts previous address etc and they would invistigate.
I have had a letter today saying that I was paid out £600.00 in 2009 from one of my loans and that i now owe the managment compnay £180.00. I called them this morning and they said that I should of told them that I had been paid £600.00 and they have spent a lot of work investigiating this. I tried to explain that at no time did anyone ever ask me if I had been paid out but just to list all the account and they would take it from there.
I really do not know what to do. I have not got £1.80 at the moment let alone £180.00.
Thank you

Did the redress payment come from a complaint they submitted or a complaint you submitted? (if you, was this before or after the claims company started their process?)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Hi
It was a claim I submitted before the claim company started their investigation.0 -
In which case, the claims company did nothing for that and you should make them aware of it. The contract you signed with them would be dated. So, logically, they cant charge you on something that took place before the contract.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi Thank you for your reply.
Their argument is that I should of told them that I had claimed previously as they have done the work in finding out that I have been paid out. Hope this mkaes sense??
Not at any time did they ask me if I had been paid out or previously claimed as I would of said that I had.
When they asked me to list the account I just put alliance and lesicester with no account number etc and I have actually had 3 accounts with A&L.0 -

Surely the service they offered was to find out if you had PPI and then put in a complaint based on your complaint reasons. It would be interesting to know what complaint they submitted to this lender seeing that the lender had paid out already.
The claims company will likely huff and puff and threaten court in an attempt to get you to pay. That often works. However, realistically, they have no chance of being successful in court. They are attempting to get money out of you for a transaction that they were not involved in.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). As you say, no court would side with the company in these circumstances, but this is yet another reason why no one should employ a CMC.There is simply no need, as they do nothing the complainant cannot do alone and for free.0
