IVA + Spouse's Overtime

Hello!

My hubby is in an IVA and declares any extra income each month and has to pay over a certain amount.

I have the option of working more (going from four to five days a week) and need to know:

If my salary increases, will we have to pay over more to the IP?

Would it be better if it was just on my pay slip as overtime?

At his one year review, we didn't have to give over any information relating to my salary, although I did when he set it up. (We were going for a joint IVA, but mine got rejected and I ended up declaring myself bankrupt).

Any help would be very helpful! And if you need any more info, please don't hesitate to ask!!

Thanks in advance

  • Only your Hubby is in the IVA, and only he is bound by its terms.

You can therefore earn your OT, and not have to declare it.

The only time your income becomes relevant, is if Hubby's IP wants to verify that you are making a 'fair contribution' towards household expenditure. Usually, this should only change if you receive a significant, permenant pay increase.
