Great RAC deals via Quidco? Not really..

So I go Via a normal google search to RAC and the price is £118, after factoring in the Quidco cashback that seems great. Go to buy it via the Quidco link and the very same policy costs £140, now it's not so great and actually cheaper to stick with the AA. What a disgraceful, dishonest and cynical way to do business, I thought it was just the sofa retailers who treated their customers like brainless oafs with their amazingly generous discounts... Shame on you RAC and shame on you Quidco for getting involved with this kind of thing.

Did you have 'At Home' chosen as an option?

If you did I think it may be because RAC are offering free 'At Home' cover on certain plans which you don't get via a cashback site.

Not really an excuse for them to do it, but a good warning for people to not just blindly go though cashback sites without checking out any other potential offers.

It is important to point this out, it is not scam though.

If you went in via different sites they may factor in their "cashback" and give you a discounted price, but when you go through a cashback site they show the full price and then the cashback you (may) get.

Alternatively, as mije1983 says, possibly you are not comparing like-for-like.
