Hi WM, glad all's well! Sounds like you've got a frugal half term sorted, staying consistent with the low-spend mindset throughout high days and holidays is part of the battle, but it sounds like you're winning (nowt wrong with the odd treat of course though). Great that you have the beach for free all year round entertainment! We live down south at the seaside and although we'd like to retire to the Argyll and Bute district, my criteria is that it has to be near water, I can't stand to be landlocked!
Apologies to any of those who are struggling with floods though, I'm not being glib about your situation, just trying to explain our retirement hope.
So, dust all gone now, ready for the next round when the kitchen's taken out? Have you got a date yet? Exciting events, just hope you get some better weather, it makes everything seem a little easier! Happy half term!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

hi habibiboo, the house is semi back to normal, all cleaned up after the plasterers but with having my son off I'm not getting the time to do my normal jobs - I'm enjoying having him off so doing loads of stuff with him, I can always catch up this afternoon as he has a play date at his friends house. Date for the new kitchen is the 17th march!
Doing really well with the spending considering my son is off, only spent £2 at the charity shop on Saturday as the shop beside my dads is really good. On Sunday we went to the cinema with tesco vouchers for the lego movie and yesterday despite the fact we were in town, we did really well. Stopped off at John lewis to redeem my voucher for a free cake and hot drink - tried a red velvet cake for the first time, yummy!! Got a load of stuff at prim@rk for my son, they were selling off a load of pyjamas so have stocked up for next winter. We even bought a few treats at Markies using a gift card that was left over from Xmas.
Have made another £50 op yesterday, so really chuffed. Hopefully will reach my £22k target by Xmas if not before xxMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
Well done on the OP and the voucher spends!0
