We are now officially in the £25k zone, new mortgage is now set up and the first payment came out yesterday. The new payments are £21.25 cheaper so made an OP this morning for £25 (I like round figures!).

Yup, round numbers is the way to do it! Well done for getting it below the big £25K, next milestone 20! You'll be MF well before 2020 at this rate!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

The plasterers are now finished :j and overall the mess was kept to the minimum as they cleaned up after they were finished, including hoovering and using the Hoover to collect any dust whilst they were doing any sanding.
Have sold a few more items on facebook with some more being picked up tomorrow. If everything is collected will make around £30, not bad for stuff we have laying around and some old clothes that my son has outgrown.
Opened up a saving tin where I was putting any spare money that I had from my purse and counted out £425, totally amazed that I managed to save this amount without really realising, we are off to see an ice hockey match tomorrow night so we are going out for tea as well paid for by this saved money. We haven't decided what to do with the rest but would like to buy some new kitchen accessories, a new dinner set and some new pans as the ones we have are ready for the bin!!
Just updated my new mortgage figure as well, wonder if I can get down to £22k by the end of the year??MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -

Was it really last Friday that I last commented on my diary!!
Super busy but cheap weekend, meal out and ice hockey tickets paid from the pot I opened up on Friday, oh took DS swimming on Sunday with a free pass that we got when paying for the last block of lessons then trip to the beach in the afternoon as it was very warm and sunny.
Have made my first payment towards paying off the kitchen, we paid half on a 0% card for 25 months with the balance bring deferred until next January. So now owe £350 less pity we couldn't pay this against the mortgage but can only pay 10% extra a year  which is really frustrating.
After school today my son found a £2.44 off next tesco shop (price match thing but can't remember what the right name is) in our driveway, it was a bit soggy but dried off nicely on the radiators so will use this next time we pop up - we only have a medium size tesco in our town but a new aldi is currently getting built with a view to be opened this summer :j. Try not to use mr t's as find them super expensive so last week has an asda shop delivered for £3 as my nearest store is 18 miles away so would of spent more in petrol getting there!!
Hope everyone is well, will try to catch up on everyone's diarys over the next few days xMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
Hi welsh mummy, well done on your savings pot, that is an amazing amount to have saved!:T well done to your Ds too for finding the tesco vouchers, I also find them to be really expensive so very rarely shop there, whenever I do it always tells me that they are the cheapest, which I can't believe!
It must be lovely living by the coast, that's one of my dreams...maybe one day:o

Hello welsh mummy!
I wanted to pop over and say hello, I have subscribed to your thread - looking forward to sharing the MFW journey :-)
Hoglet x0 -
Hi crumpets, the nearest beach is 5 miles away and it's is great for kids with loads to do with the rock pools and shell hunting. We have several other beaches nearby with one where a colony of seals live so is great for a visit with the bucket and spades in the summer.
Hi to hoglet121 as well, welcome to my ramblings lol!
Well the half term holidays started today and we go back next Thursday, pretty cheap day with a lazy morning at home then various errands run during the afternoon including a trip to the local library and quick trip round mr t's with various coupons that needed using up there (plus my recent find lol) and spent £19 which included 2 bottles of red wine for the OH.
Made 2 OP's to the mortgage, £25 yesterday plus another £20 today (bagged up £1 coins from a pot and banked them this afternoon). So they should show on the mortgage account at the start of the week.
Hopefully shouldn't spent too much with my son being off school, planning a trip to the cinema (paid for with tesco vouchers) to see the lego movie on Sunday, on Monday heading into town as son need new indoor shoes for school as he came home with his yesterday with most of the rubber sole missing!!!
Hope everyone has a great start to the weekend xxMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
Oooh we'll done on your pot! Mine has $4.60 in it.... :-)0
