Under paid credit card in error

Hi, new to this please go easy.
I paid my credit card bill on time but in error I underpaid by £3.00!!, I corrected this the following month but having just checked my credit file I now have a 'late payment' on record.
I have never missed a payment or under paid in the past and I'm worried that it will have a terrible effect if I come to apply for credit again.
Should MBNA have registered a late payment even though I did make payment? could I dispute it?
What effects will this mark have on my ability to obtain credit?
Thanks for any help.

For future reference, if you're numerically dyslexic (or just lazy/rushed/stressed!), direct debit might be the way to go since that puts the onus on the lender to do the sums.could I dispute it?What effects will this mark have on my ability to obtain credit?0 -

As long as you paid at least the minimum due by the due date then you should not have a 'late payment' lodged against you.
I suggest you contact the credit card company to understand their point of view.0 -
I doubt missing one payment will scare off any lenders (Especially 6 months down the road).0

By your logic I could pay £1.00 on my ~£60.00 bill, and then claim I accidentally underpaid.
You made a mistake, and they will report it as underpaid. It's a useful lesson to learn from.0
