If should make it better - the assessors are being audited to make sure they act fairly and give correct recommendations to the DWP.

It won't affect any right for MR or appeal.

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Who is actually carrying out these audits?? Don't tell me, ATOS are.

Besides which, why are the doing this auditing? Surely the assessor was the one that had the face to face assessment with. He/she heard all of the answers. How can they change the answers given by the claimant

No, they are being independently audited, and many 'inspectors' are sitting in on some of the assessments.

The auditors will also have any recordings made, along with claimant evidence etc.,

A Mandatory Reconsideration, by the DWP, only involves another DM looking at it, so not clear what point you were making anyway.

It's not a case of changing answers - it's a check on whether the assessor applied appropriate recommendations, taking account of the assessment (if it applies) and any medical evidence.

Paper reviews, where the claimant hasn't been seen, are also being audited.

Had the dreaded medical assessment today was going quite well then disaster the system crashed so the assessment had to be finished on paper just hope this wont be a problem they said I should get a decision in about 2 to 4 weeks.

Not a 'disaster' as such, more a glitch that they had a prompt remedy to?
