Normal home design sites/magazines

I say normal. I mean for your average 3 bed end of terrace type home.
I've bought Homes and Whatever they are called magazines and they're all full of kitchens bigger than my house.
Are there any good sites or mags suitable for the average home and the average budget?
Thanks

Thanks but it looks like a US site?0 -
Are there any 'regular home' magazines?
I'm not after anything really 'designer', just nice ideas that compliment each other and inspiration really.0 -
Haha yes good call. I've been browsing some of these magazines as we're having some work done and its really hard to find ordinary houses featured!0

houzz.com is a US site but try and search with 'UK' in your searches. Sometimes you'll get lucky.
Also, search for terms like 'small kitchens' or 'snug rooms' and you might get lucky.
Other than that - the magazines you talk about are considered 'aspirational' so they want to sell you the dream - not what you already have. You'll pick up some clever ideas from them but then you have to narrow them down and apply them to your context.
If you can't be bothered with all that - get an IKEA, NEXT, B&Q, Wikes etc etc catalogue (or visit in-store) and they might provide you with the inspiration you need.0 -
Have a look at Style at Home magazine. I've found its material is usually cheaper to consider for our terraced house.0

Go round (in person or virtually) all the major DIY chains, any local ones, and Howdens.
All have sites / brochures stuffed with information & ideas - obviously they are not "independent" but you can iron that out by looking at them all. I found them much more practical than magazines which need to sell advertising space.0 -

Just had to return to my 'Style at Home' recommendation with a quick update.
Have just received my annual DD renewal letter and am thoroughly disgusted. Present subscription is £13.99 and am 'happily' informed that my new subscription will be only £22.90. I calculate this as a 63% increase. Letter also says this new subscription will save 21% on cover price. Present cover price is £1.99, so there must be a heavy price increase coming.
I also note that subscription price quoted in magazine is £16.99, so loyal customers are being quoted well over the odds on renewal.
I've e-mailed to ask if this increase figure is correct, as if it is, I won't be renewing.0
