Wedding Venue Change of Ownership

Myself and my fianc!e have just found out our wedding venue that is booked for 14 months away (a holiday inn) has been taken over by Britannia.

We do not want to get married in a Britannia as the standards will almost certainly fall as this is what has happened to other Britannia hotels. We have paid £500 deposit. Does anybody have any advice on cancelling the booking and getting the deposit returned? Is the contract we've signed with Holiday Inn or the hotel itself?

    Hi
You need to read the agreement you've signed.
Check to see what the cancellation clauses say.
However have you spoken to the venue about this ?

  • Many Holiday Inns are franchises. If that is the case then you will have booked with the hotel.
