Refused New Bank Account

Options
For some reason I was refused a bank account with First Direct after having been with Lloyd's for twenty years. Only thing I can think of is that we have moved twice in last two years. How long is this refusal going to stay on my account as want to try and get mortgage in couple years time?

  • Your file will show only a search I believe. Not a refusal.

Think they stay for 12 months.

It should be ok as long as you don't have lots in a short time.

As for the refusal, Have you checked your credit report? Are you on electoral roll?

Thanks for response. Yes was going to do credit check later. Just so annoying. Only wanted to change to take advantage of their savings account.
