I can only blame my own naivete for the first payment. I've not been driving that long, so I just saw an official looking fine and paid without thinking. It was only when I mentioned it to a friend that I found out that they were a scam.
Well I was a little confused because, although the stickied guidelines do mention the appeals process, I had seen very recent posts (as quoted in my previous message) that suggested Smart Parking were nothing more than an irritant that would soon go away.
you have no idea if you could be the first one they take to court, nobody can guarantee they wont do so in the future, the past does not predict the future
they also have up to 6 years to take you to court, so thats possibly 12 to 24 months of debt collector demands , stress and worry, keeping all the paperwork , just in case they decided to take it to court in the next 6 years at some point. I cannot see anyone wishing that upon themselves
there was probably a time when excel and PE didnt go to court, but they do now0 -
