help please switched suppliers...lost money

Can someone help, I recently switched suppliers, I am on a key meter,...both suppliers are blaming the other and not paying back the £27 owed, I have written letters and had the previous suppliers key sent back to me, no refund tho. ? As mentioned, both suppliers say the other should give me the money back. Unfortunately, I have mislaid one of two meter readings, the one that is mislaid, apparently is the one needed to solve the dilema, as, with this number, apparently, the previous supplier said they would pay the refund, even tho its not up to them...? Totally contradicting themselves,?, unfortunately after hearing this, I had to hang up as my patience was wearing thin, can anyone help please.

How quickly did you use the new suppliers key? When you topped up that will have sent a reading.If you did this quickly then the old supplier can bill to that reading.

For anyone on a key meter you should always make sure if you have credit on the meter that you phone the first supplier a couple of days before leaving them with a meter read and how much credit is on the meter.
