How do you keep records of comps entered?

Just wondered if anyone had a system? I started out by writing every single comp down that I entered, but found it too time consuming. So I changed to just writing down closing dates, which is super fast and lets me check how many I'm entering per day. I have a calendar which I then put a tick for every comp ending every day. It all goes towards keeping track of the comps I've entered and works for me

My system is enter & forget :-)
I just use the MSE functionality to mark my entry & move on.If it comes back as a winner that is fine.If not it is forgotten about.
When I started comping I did not use MSE so made a note of what I had entered but that seems a bit pointless now. Each to their own of course & in the end just do what suits you eg spread sheets, notebooks etc.
MSE has functionality to help you track your entries & prevent dupes.

If I decide to enter, I click the 'Thanks' button to thank the OP, but will also click the green tick button to show me that I've entered.0 -
I keep a tally as I'm entering to make sure I have entered a decent amount each day (otherwise I tend to vastly overestimate how many I've done!). Don't keep any more of a record than that (and think I'm unusual in doing even that).2018 wins: Aspinal of London jewellery box, Boudavida gym outfit, HP Pavilion laptop, The List party tickets, All Points East festival tickets, Kiehls moisturiser, By Terry cc serum, Nars Liquid Bronzer, Benefit highlighter, Nars illuminator, Fresh advanced lip trio set, Cetaphil sample set, signed copy of My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent0

I do the same as weeowens.
When I started comping I kept a note of each one I entered but soon found it was just a waste of time that could be used entering more comps. Enter, thank, green tick, move on.0 -
Am eternally grateful to the ticks and crosses that weren't here when I started comping
. That's my only system! Recording those I enter would eat up precious comping time
Before that, I used the "Thanks" button, but often I wanted to thank the poster even if I didn't enter !
Now I simply hover and use the cross if I'm not going to enter. If I open a thread, I thank whether or not I enter.
If I enter a comp from an email or website directly, I'll check it's on here so that I don't dupe myself when entering by end date later- and to check for an answer, LOL :rotfl:!
Sometimes I need to add it if it's not already here, but it usually is!

hi, on MSE you can keep track of the comps you've entered
on here by using the green (entered) & red (skip) buttons
I use the them to keep track though years ago when we first started on here we didn't have them so we used to have to keep spreadsheets/lists etc
not sure if you've seen our great comping guide here
(apologies if you have)
Comping Guide - Getting Started & Other FAQs (1 2 3 ... Last Page)

from the guide..
By using the red cross and green tick buttons, I can very quickly see the comps that I haven’t yet reviewed. If you click any of these buttons by mistake then click again to reverse the action.
Some comps will void your entries if you enter more than once so I strongly recommend using these buttons to help you keep track.
When you return to the main forum page, you will see which comps you have skipped/entered as they will have a red cross or a green tick. You can focus your comping time and energy most efficiently on the comps with just a faded red cross as these are the comps that you still need to review.
hope this helps xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

If I spend one hour a day entering I need prizes worth £2,300 a year to equal minimum wage, doesn't matter how many competitions I enter.0

Thanks firefly. I do use the ticks and crosses on here too, I just like to keep a record on paper. The comp guide has been very useful. Not sure if it was on there I saw it, but today I've set up a signature on my email to speed up email comps.0 -
Hi,BFlying.Hope it is Ok to ask but what is the ultimate aim of keeping a record of what you have entered?
Is it just totals that you are after or specific comps so you can check back after a win?0 -
