Mortgage - Lift Scheme

  • Yes absolutely, from what you have said to me, you sound like you would be suitable for the scheme. I would really recommended speaking to a mortgage adviser as I found ours to be fantastic, he chased up our Lift application for us and dealt with them so that we didn't really have to do much at all.

  • Hi there,

My partner and I have just moved into our new house on Friday (yay!) and we purchased through the LIFT Scheme. It was fantastic for us and helped us out when we would have been struggling to save otherwise. Once you find somewhere you like and want to put an offer in on, e-mail the schedule to LIFT ASAP, rather than wait on your Solicitor do it. This saved us a week because I e-mailed it to them straight away.

It's a long process waiting on LIFT etc but so worth it.

    All the best!
  • I know this was last year but I'm wondering if anyone can help.

Me and my partner have just given our lift advisor all the letters needed to apply. As I have have bad credit the lift application will be in both of our names but the mortgage will just be in my partners. Was wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and what the outcome was?

We have a daughter and expecting second in May, so need to start looking for a bigger place to rent if this falls through
    Thanks

As this is shared equity and you are applying for a loan which will be secured over a property which you will not own, the application should be in only one name if the mortgage and property will be in only one name.

Similarly, the HTB - Equity Loan scheme works in the same way, with sole property, mortgage and equity loan.

  • The advisor we are going through has advised us to do this, as if my partner does the lift by himself we will only be entitled to 2 bedrooms. We have had a yes to mortgage on principle from nat west with 5% deposit so fingers crossed all goes smoothly
