Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Evening everyone.
Well my weekly plans.... Have a busy few weeks coming up so need to plan and spend the bare minimum...
Sun- NSD
Mon - coffee with a friend - £5
Tues - MOT & service  (budgeted £500, hopefully I'll have money left over and can be added to my maternity savings)
Weds - Baby group - NSD
Thurs - lunch and walk with friend and her baby - £15 (PAYDAY)
Fri - baby group and visit from friend and her daughter - £5
Sat - night out - £25
Total - £50
Now I only have £40 in my spends account.so going to have to be quite tight with the coffee and lunch. And then maybe just cheap packet of biscuits for Fridays visit. And possibly even spend less than £25 on sat. However it's a friends 40th birthday party. I haven't been out and had a drink (and not driven) in 18 months (pregnancy and since baba born) so don't want to scrimp too much. It's also not a cheap place, so may only get 4 drinks and a taxi from that anyway.

Hi everyone can I join again this week please - last week was my first week at this challenge and it really made me think twice about every penny I spent - so my budget for the week will be £100 - sounds a lot but including my grocery shop this week as I usually down budget myself at the shops and this is where I can spend a fortune! So my plans for the week are-
Sun - £10 for Chinese takeaway with in laws
Mon - NSD - at work - meals planned
Tue - at work meals planned, Grocery shop approx £50
Wed - NSD - at work - meals planned
Thurs - at work- lunch planned, £3.00 for DD dancing and maybe £20 for meal with friends (undecided yet whether or not to go!)
Fri - NSD - at work - meals planned
Sat - no plans as yet but will be asleep for half of it following night shift on Fri
Will at some point need to buy a present for my Nan's birthday next Sunday but depending on when I plan to see her it could come out of next weeks budget on Sunday of next week.
Looks like I have £17 unspoken for - this will be for back up/emergencies and unexpected expenses.
Good luck everyone!GC- June £0/£150

I have a budget of £100 this week.
Today: NSD (weather)
Tomorrow: probably a NSD too as not working
Tuesday: gig in Glasgow and dinner with a friend beforehand
Wednesday: Carvery dinner with friends (have 20% off voucher though)
Thursday: Longstanding plan for meal out. £15 for three courses, but I expect there will be wine
Friday: NSD planned. Will be living on water by that point anyway!
The £100 will cover all of the meals out and also any food we need for the house. I'm going to need to buy Mr Mooo a pizza or something as I'm having all the social fun0
