Free range chicken:aldi vs Lidl?
Hello fellow moneysavers
In the past I have usually bought organic chickens from Sainsbods - I got suspicious about what they do to cheaper ones after my dog refused to eat the meat from a bog standard chicken. But...MEGABUCKS!!!
Does anyone have any comments about whole free range chickens from either Aldi or Lidl - are they good eating and if anyone has tried a chicken from both suppliers - which one was better?

Not tried the Lidl ones as don't have one locally but the Aldi ones are pretty tasty and much cheaper than other SMs.

I have bought both, Lidl very close to me but go out of my way to Aldi.
Aldi wins every time, its cheaper, i pay £4.99 yet in Lidl around £6 for same size.
Prefer taste of Aldi chicken too.0 -
We have the £4.99 one from Aldi, load of meat on them. Did 3 of us 4 meals. Very tasty too.Why pay full price when you may get it YS

Hi,
I am a massive fan of the Aldi free range chicken. I can't comment on Lidl as i've never tried their chicken, and it is more expensive. Aldi Chicken is very tasty and good value for money. I had 4 generous portions of breast meat for adults roast dinner, the brown meat was turned into a pie and boiled the carcass for soup.Cat :wave:0 -

I buy Aldi's free range chicken breast lots, they're very well priced. Occasionally get a whole bird, the skin is quite thick but very good quality and plenty of meat for the price.
I haven't bought Lidl's.0 -
Had the Aldi one for dinner last night and very tasty it was too

At a £5 its around £3 cheaper than Morries !
Plenty of meat and good quality !
Sandwiches tomorrow and soup ( from carcase ) Wednesday
Well recommended !A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !
