Is it not illegal to tamper with price labels?

    yes it certainly is.

The legislation (S.2 Fraud Act 2006) says "A person is in breach of this section if he—(a) dishonestly makes a false representation, and (b) intends, by making the representation—(i) to make a gain for himself or another, or (ii) to cause loss to another or to expose another to a risk of loss". Or, in plain English, lying or switching labels to be able to get the item at a price that is cheaper than the real one.

Please do not discuss criminal activities on the forum. The posts will be reported to the forum team who would decide what action to take.

This is a line I certainly would not cross and I do not think anyone should be encouraged to. Is it not illegal to tamper with price labels?

I don't often give my opinion but if I am honest I have been trying to find the words all day to respond as I was quite shocked. With no one responding I felt I should.

I have to agree with you. It's definitely not a grey area....it's illegal. It's no different to swapping SELS.
We have had a good run on 1p items.....I have only had bloody latex gloves :o but it's time to move on.

We don't do badly in the scheme of things. The 1p bonanza is all but over for now......some just won't accept it.

I always say that people should do what they are comfortable with....I still do. But you are right, there may be new posters that think this is ok.....it's not :(

    I agree

what next, telling people to put stuff in their bags and not pay for them.

  • Evening peeps,

Hope all are well today. Hubby wanted to go out a while so we nipped into Mr Shoes again today.

Used more of the 50p off toothpaste/brushes coupons on packs of toothbrushes(59p) which will go in the box I am making up for the Cyrenians. Had 2 Mascara/Lipstick coupons so got 2 Mascara for free and used 2 x 100 point coupons as well - paid to take them away.

Kept getting followed by a young security guard in boots for some strange reason. Decided to have a bit of fun and went back the way a good few times to pass in front of him with my push along trolley. I made small talk/comments with him each time until he eventually gave up. !!!!.

Been reading back about the wet wipes - might be able to convince hubby the morn to give it a try.

    Mr T
In the afternoon he wanted to have a shot of the scanner at Mr T. Managed to get 2 more Avengers Duvet Sets @ 1p and a stupid xmas twig thing for 1p (will be used in the bairns craft box).

Bought more burgers as well and a £6 meal deal so got back £8.02 pp.

Scanned heaps of stuff but slim pickings in our Mr T. Hey Ho was fun. Hubby has just applied for his own Mr T Card!

Sorry redfox. I did not realise I should not respond.
  • Iceland Bingo are currently offering a £10 Iceland voucher when you deposit £10 (and play) on the bingo.

AND...TopCashBack are also offering £15 cashback, so it's £15 profit.

(To anyone considering dong this, they also give you £30 'bonus money' to play with. It's best to contact customer services and ask them to remove this bonus, because in the event of you winning anything on the bingo it's very hard to withdraw if you've played with bonus money. Hope that makes sense!)
