As is pointed out, we're saving £10 in total so I'm trying to work a way where i'm not over-paying for things (blimey, some of the M&S stuff is overpriced!) to justify it. any suggestions/ thoughts greatly received
One way is to work out how much you have saved as a %age, either from the total price before any coupons / meal deal / BOGOF offers etc, and then deduct that %age from the original price (or from the discounted price in the meal deals if you want and are good at sums), then see if that looks like value for money or not.
For example, getting £27 of foodstuffs (before any offers deducted) for £8 is a 70% saving. So the millionaire shortbread which was £3.79 (and assuming you may have bought it individually rather than in a meal deal) is £1.14.
The veggie ready meals (£2.49) are £0.75. The £0.85 tins of soup are £0.25 ... etc etc.

This is really the strangest glitch - still cant fathom it.

Mine were collected at 10:40, price on receipt £3 each, all 3 flavours. Still waiting for apg results.

Don't forget to check for your APG cheer1eader, you should be pleasantly surprised. ;)

Thanks for all the lovely quotes :T

My favourite quote, from The House at Pooh Corner, has a slightly different sentiment - but it always makes me smile:):

After they had walked and walked and walked, they came to the part of the Forest where Eeyore was.
"Hallo, Eeyore!" said Pooh. "This is Tigger."
    "What is?" said Eeyore.
"This," explained Pooh and Piglet together, and Tigger smiled his happiest smile and said nothing.
Eeyore walked all round Tigger one way, and then turned and walked all round him the other way.
"What did you say it was?" he asked.
    "Tigger."
    "Ah!" said Eeyore.
    "He's just come," explained Piglet.
    "Ah!" said Eeyore again.
He thought for a long time and then said:
    "When is he going?"

It doesn’t matter if you are calling a 0345 number from a landline or and
mobile the call cost is exactly the same.
Calling a 0345 number will cost exactly the same as a call to a standard
landline number starting with 01 and 02.

If you have “free” minutes as part of your phone deal then calls to 0345
numbers will come out of that and there will be no additional charges on your
    bill.

    Aau you :A

What a clever idea to bring people back to the meaning of this thread. I'll never say anything as eloquent as TM but here are my thanks.

Thanks to this site (well, mainly this thread) I no longer pop my card into an ATM/card reader feeling like I want to vomit. After years of living that way you've no idea (haha except you all do) how it feels to simply not worry. This thread has taught me patience (I am a bit of a hot head sometimes) and I'm kinder and more considerate than I used to be. I don't have to buy something 'straight away' as though it's going to disappear. I'm happy to wait around for a better deal. I am the closest I've ever been to being totally debt free. My entire attititude towards money has changed.

And every single day I look forward to reading about Tinys bathroom stash, Zippy's latest hedge adventure, words of wisdom from FC's little boy, QOC's bus journeys, TM's recipes, scamps' car bootys, Jelly's filing system, Aau's maths master class....nerfdad and sons...I could go on and on and on. You ALL bring a little something to my day :)

    Big love elite!

    Thanks to this site I

Well where do I start. I came on MSE after being slightly mesmerised by Martins hundred mile an hour chatter. I found Myrtle Turtle coupon thread and started from there. Then found you guys.

Because of this thread. I do save money, its helped towards my new house which we desperately wanted to move but were scared to.

What I am thankful for more is being able to speak freely without reprisal. Opinions will vary and that's ok. We have a 24 hour day 365 days a year support system full of like minded people.

Some of my RL life friends just dont get it. I have tried. My MIL saw Jordan on the telly and says is that what you do ?!! He must be the best(jeeze not by a long shot woman but he does his bit :rotfl:)

You guys know more of my thoughts and hopes and secrets than my extended family and friends, no one knows my handle in muggle land.

So I am thankful for you lot being you. Without you I would still be lonely :A

    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I came to this site when living away from home Monday to Friday, I stayed in a barn at the back of a hotel, there was no signal. I used to have to run out into the field to get the page to change! This was before the 'big glitch,' during this glitch, I spent my evenings in the different A shopping... I would go home on a Friday with my car packed to the ceiling with my new hobby. This had kept my family, the kids who went to Uni, and extended family in goodies... sadly the cereal ran out long ago! I would like to say thanks to this thread I have a clean house... but you know that this is not true!

I made the choice to work away when OH had health problems and could not really sustain working for someone else, and wanted to follow a life long ambition of building a house, and I wanted somewhere big enough to be able to care for children, so made the sacrifice to raise income to a maximum at the sacrifice of family time... this is very hard.

As we have no budget... things are being done as and when we can afford this and when OH is well enough... thank god for a few endowment policies. I would like to think that this thread will enable me to go home a year earlier...

I love the life stories, and the banter. Whilst I tend not to share personal problems, the thread has helped me through the death of my dad, mum's stroke and her altzemers, having a son living abroad.. as well as the other kids having girlfriends, bringing girls home/the parties they have had and the mess they have left, for which I have received the Elite therapy!
