    Good Morning Elite,

I've just got around to checking my AvM receipt from last night. I'm not too happy with some of the comparisons, according to MSM, in Morrisons, crumpets should be £1, sweetcorn 50p, pizza £2.50 and cheesecakes £1.79. I reckon my APG should have been £3.23 more than what I got.

I'm guessing that the AvM comparison is still using the old system rather than MSM, does anyone know?

    1 x Brussels Sprouts (500g) £1.00 £0.60
    1 x Kellogg's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (750g) £2.00 £1.57
    1 x Heinz Classic Cream of Tomato Soup (4x400g) £3.44 £1.69
    1 x Warburtons Crumpets (9) £1.00 £1.34
    1 x Green Giant Niblets Original Sweetcorn (340g) £0.85 £1.00
    1 x Blue Dragon Stir Fry Sauce - Black Bean (120g) £0.50 £0.34
    1 x Blue Dragon Stir Fry Sauce - Sweet Chilli & Garlic... £0.50 £0.33
    1 x Blue Dragon Stir Fry Sauce - Chow Mein (120g) £0.50 £0.33
    1 x Blue Dragon Medium Egg Noodles Nest (300g) £1.28 £1.00
    1 x Blue Dragon Fine Egg Noodles (300g) £1.28 £1.00
    1 x Blue Dragon Whole Wheat Noodles Nest (6 per pack -... £1.28 £1.00
1 x Chicago Town Takeaway Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Pizz... £4.00 N/A
    1 x Gü After Dark Chocolate & Vanilla Cheesecakes (2x9... £2.00 N/A

Comparison total (compared products only) £13.63 £10.20

Yeah, I wouldn't go by msm (where have we heard that one before?:(). There are items showing OOS on msm. I presume these are ones that aren't on M's website but which were picked up earlier on the APG and the price on msm with the OOS marking is, I think, giving a guide as to what the APG will show. There are full price histories for products at M on there, which can only come from the manual collections.

These items, that are showing as OOS, may well become N/A on the APG next week (or after) if M online does not show them. Meanwhile, msm.co.uk has presumably (or obviously?) done a scan of m.com and transferred the prices onto there. It will have picked up more than the APG, so will still show those prices (even if APG is returning N/A - e.g. A Broccoli 335g, although M's should be outside the weight limit? Perhaps M's website doesn't give the weight info. and thus the product will start being compared to M at £1:eek: next week (or whenever APG starts using m.com prices). Or maybe the instore collection has identified the outside of weight and thus got N/A but m.com into msm hasn't and therefore it will start comparing (which is what we don't need).

In short (:rotfl:), I think there are three classes of item on msm:

    1. Ones that are showing M oos because m.com does not show them - but which have been picked up, at the "OOS" price, on the instore collection (M instore does stock these items, but once the system goes fully online, it won't compare if m.com does not have them). These will still compare on APG for now. (And also, even if "OOS", will go on comparing for 'up to' 7 days?)

    2. Items that are in the instore collection and on m.com. These are showing on msm and comparing on the APG.

    3. Items that weren't picked up on the manual collection, but which have been scanned into msm.co.uk from the online. These will still show prices (and in stock) on msm but return N/A on the APG.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem any way to tell which is category 2 and which is category 3, as both will show M pricing on msm. (Although that does give a guide as to what items are comparable vs M - I have, of course, already identified nearly all these items from my own manual collections and msm.co.uk is confirming my correctness(:p:rotfl:) rather than telling me much I didn't already know - but it has told me about "one or two" more items that I didn't have as M comparable or best vs M.)

I've got my shopping vs M - I bought all of the risky items though:eek::D (not literally all), so that if I make any saving, it will immediately be wiped out by the rest of the comp.:(:( - now got about 2 hours to wait to enter the receipt into the "price risk". I'm of course risking for hoping for favourable glitches (and I've used my theory above to help decide what to buy, as well as other information that I have amassed about A and M) - but we shall see!

Perhaps I ought to add the three porridge pots (in 2s) vs M if my category 1 is correct?

Msm showing 79p each for M but seen instore on 79p bogo'f' - maybe APG has picked up bogo'f' and would compare vs that, although m.com price on msm (as m.com not showing bogo'f'?).

I've noticed the 4 pint milks on 3 for £3 in M aren't showing the mbuy on m.com - as a result, msm is showing full price for M on all of them - but maybe APG, in 3s, will work vs 3 for £3 as it has before? That said, mixing and matching may cause one to be missed (I think 1% instore has missed the mbuy previously, so if you buy, say, 2 semi skimmed and one 1% it may return full pricing on all:eek: whereas 3x semi skimmed might work). That may be the situation for the "British" milk in England - it may be totally different again for the Welsh versions. There will be collections from at least one store in Wales* but if M isn't delivering to Wales at the moment but only parts of the Midlands, m.com won't have any regional prices or Scottish products on there (which APG, for the mo., may have from instore)?

*I think they use the M store in Saltney (on the border of England/Wales) (more accurately Saltney Town?) or that they used to use this store before. (My paying attention to the footnotes in Mr A's press advertising from before.)
Mr A in Saltney is in England but Mr M is, of course, in Wales. Quite whether it stocks Welsh milk in there I couldn't tell you, but, still, quite an exciting town(:rotfl::rotfl:) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltney - particularly the bit about Boundary Lane, according to wiki., being "the only urban street... where this happens".
