Have a look (on the same website) at the children's notes to their parents, to Santa, etc etc.

My eldest did a course on being baby sitting on a Saturday morning at the local college when she was 14 going on 15 and she then put a card in the local shop window opposite school. She used to babysit a boy who was 12 - a classmate of her brothers - I don't think his parents trusted him on his own when they went out on a Saturday :D.
So that was the first bit of money she earned and they had a great time watching DVDs and sweet eating on a Saturday night and getting paid for it :j.

Afterwards she got a hotel job waiting on tables and she was doing really well at this for the first month. Then they realised she was still only 15  so they had to sack her just before Christmas but then they took her back on again when she turned 16 in January :T

    Good morning all.
Thanks for the new thread squigs.. I've skipped and skimmed from page 220ish on the old thread up to here. Loving the 'what this means to me' posts, and all of them seem to echo what I feel. A fantastic group of caring, sharing, giving, supportive, kind, funny, informative, inventive, witty, and occasionally naughty people, who make me smile, laugh out loud and sometimes shed tears. Thanks elite.
I've been awol for a few days once again cos RL took over completely. I was involved in a car accident. My car was t boned at traffic lights. I'm not badly injured, just stiff, very sore from hitting the door wth my right side, and a bit weepy. Now carless, and dealing with the insurance company.
Mum has offered me the use of her car, but I feel a bit apprehensive. I'm going to use it though, as I need to have transport to go to work, and there is little in the public transport line at the times I need to travel.
Anyway, enough of my troubles. I hope you are all well.
Nannylala, I read about your anniversary. Glad you replaced your engagement ring, and I hope your rose bush is smothered with flowers in the spring and summer.
VT welcome back. Hope you enjoyed your holiday.
Nice to see newbies joining in, and some old familiar names popping in.
Lots more I could comment on, but feeling a bit wonky at the moment, so I'll go now. Hope you all have a lovely day.
    Hugs
    N x

Glad to hear you are ok Naebbirac, take it easy for a while. It might be a few days before any injuries start to show. X
    Morning all

Lovely to read all that the thread means to people, it all rings so true. A group you can laugh with , cry with, unburden yourself to, and share life stories and also save money with! long may this thread run and run

Thanks hun, hope your cloud has lifted a little x
