Hi all,

I've been looking at my credit reports again after being turned down for a car loan, and have discovered something strange on Equifax.

There's an entry from Aktiv Kapital for a credit card on just one month in 2011, listing a Default/delinquent balance, and shows as "updated" on 31st Oct 2012. I don't HAVE a credit card, and the one that I did have was sold to me with my current account and has long been closed.

I have read the previous posts on AK and understand them to be a pushy company of questionable repute, but I'm not sure which letter to use or what to say to get this investigated and the single occurrence off my credit report.

Any input gratefully received.

Thanks in advance!

You really need to find out what its for first, argue with them that it is not yours, they wont just remove it without investigating.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I'm not sure how to go about contacting them to get this single occurrence off my credit report.

  • Thanks for the responses. I realised I hadn't worded my initial post as well as I could've done, so it's been edited to clarify that.

Just phone them up and tell them the story...they've put a defaulted credit card on your credit history that you do not believe is yours, and you'd like it removed. They'll soon tell you what to do next.
