Uk student studying in Scotland

Hi all my daughter has been offered a place at Ballet West to study a HND, I have researched student funding but a totally confused with it all. Can somebody tell me the maximum help a uk student can receive .The tuition is £9000 plus about £5000 for accommodation. Thanks

Is your home in England? If so, telephone 'Student Finance England' and tell them exactly what course it is, and where.

It depends on where in the UK you live, the amount of support she can get will be based on your household income, phone student finance for your area/look on their website and you will the information you need.

Well done to your daughter getting onto her course.

Possibly no support at all, for maintenance or fees. Courses don't appear to be designated.

Researching indicates that is up to date, so it would appear no loans are available. Had a student there years ago that I recall we had a battle with as the course wasn't designated then. It eventually was, then BW changed the setup and it lost specific designation.
  • Thanks . The course appears to be accredited by Northumbria university , Newcastle. I will give student finance England a call on Monday and see what they say. We live down in Somerset so a long way for her to go but should be worth it.

I've just told you it's not eligible though. I also evidenced it.

    Don't get your hopes up.
