Thanks a lot for your help. Well I have spoken to him an hour ago and told him that you have done forgery with my documents and I will take that proof to the police in 3 days if you did not refunded my money. Guess what was his answer?

“Take it today, don’t wait for 3 days! And that you have supplied us the forge documents for getting this property. And we’ll prove that.”

I am sure he can’t do that, I have all emails saved sent to him where I sent him my original scanned documents whenever he requested. Not sure but there will be a way to get hold of documents sent to lender, as I know he used quite a few lenders for me and therefore may be all lenders have different details, that would be enough I guess.

Now I have really realized how many blunders I have made in this deal, I did not have any written proof of fixed payment of £5700, but I do have proof of paying him around £4450 as cheques and online transfers.

The only dilemma here is that we are 3 here, I, my wife and 7 months old son, I don’t want to put them in trouble incase he already have some plans if I go to police and rather recovery I get in deep trouble.

    Go to the police NOW.

He is probably already shredding evidence, since you have tipped him off that you will make a complaint.

Tell the police that you and your family are in fear of this man.

Let the police deal with this - that is their job.

he's just trying to scare you!! Go straight to the police and tell them everything. Can these emails with the scanned documents prove that the ones you now have are fake?! Explain to the police that you fear your original documents will be sold!

You have nothing to hide, so you'll be fine. THe police need to stop this guy before he rips off more people. He's probably been doing it for years and then threatening anyone who dares to complain!!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • while ago I posted on this forum about I being ripped off by mortgage broker/EA for around £4200... and on people guidance I took some steps.. I'll explain everything as brief as I can.

My claim is in small claim court, which I just received a notice for hearing after 2 months time.

I would like to ask what my chances are under circumstances I am going to tell now..

I sent all my originals and faked documents produced by broker to Financial Ombudsman, FSA, OFT, Victim support and Police, only FSA replied back with reasonable answer, and recently some FSA people visited that broker too. I also wrote to lender to ask what their criteria is to check whether to whom they are lending £150K is real or not and why I should not think that you have deliberately ignored all forged facts, no reply.

Now I have finally received hearing order from court, and another bill of £300, already paid £100 to court. I am very upset and stressed and don't know what to do, I am not legal guy and its first time I am dealing with this situation, and as I haven't got any response from above organization, even not from police I feel I am just wasting my more money by going to court. On other hand he has produced in his defense a comp slip where seller has wrote that I received £1700 as security deposit non refundable,, which I am sure is fake too. Looking at his bravery and boldness in forging and lying, I don't see court will believe me. He can simply get away with saying that I produced the forge documents... so simple as that. the only thing can prove him wrong is his email where he offered me £1500 to settle matter out of court.

I am sorry for this long post and wholeheartedly thanks if you read all. Could anyone please advice me what should I do? I have 2 weeks to pay court fees if i want to take this matter further. What my chances are? I really don't know the court system... If police hasn't took matter serious, why would court bother whether documents were forged or not... shall I go ahead or just forget everything and move on? I really want to take him to court, but I am dealing with someone who is seems to be perfect criminal and knows courts very well.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I just simped on reading, but as I was reading the OP's first post it reminded me of the sort of Inside Track type of arrangement.

It's like he's paid somebody to find him property etc etc. So some kind of finder's fee.

Although his English wasn't the best and I did skimp!

You may find the Police are reluctant to act because of "sensitivities" on community relations in East London.

As someone who works for the police, can I just say "tosh" to that comment?

    Thanks.

  • I would visit the CAB and get them to help you with this case. Their advice is free. Also find out the name of your local MP and arrange a meeting with them. Organisations sit up and take more notice when they become involved in your case. This is also free. You could also contact Watchdog, the BBC programme that investigates fraud cases like yours. They might be successful at getting answers and even scare this guy into giving you your money back. Some national newspapers might also be interested in this fraud.

I wish you the best of luck.
