Can I be defaulted twice on the same debt??

Hello
I have recently been contacted by a debt collection firm saying I must repay a lloyds cc debt asap or I will get a default on my credit file, Obviously I don't want this to happen so I checked all 3 credit agencies and found the debt under the name of the Lloyds on my experian file - It stated on the file that the debt has a SETTLEMENT date of 07/03/2008, Now I understand this clear the debt after 6 years -so in 2 months time?
So should I start repaying this debt collection firm on a debt that will be wiping in 2 months anyway? and can this debt firm issue a default on this same debt?
- Should proberbly add that I have contacted this debt firm and discussed the debt and just said i'd get back to them, I did hear somewhere that this will reset the 6 date? But I think that a settlement date sounded pretty final.
Many thanks
Dave.

What is the default date on the Lloyd's account?
No, you can't get a default on the same account twice.
Contacting them doesn't necessarily acknowledge the debt. Ask them to prove the debt is owed.Save 12k in 2014 member 056
£0.00/£70000 -
It dosen't actually say default - just has a settlement date and the balance says £0 ?0

Seems like the usual dirty tricks to keep the debt alive.
I think best you don't contact them at all (specifically in the next 2 months). There are many examples across the forums, I seem to recall. Suggest you read up here before taking any action.Friendly greeting!0
