I don't think the law has changed yet:

The tax disc will be scrapped at some point, probably this year, but for the moment you still have to display one.0

You have fourteen days to display if purchased on line and you applied before the old disc expired
Also when buying a new (brand new) vehicle the VED disc is posted out by the DVLA and you have fourteen days you can drive without displaying.0 -
I would guess the rules will change in April when the DVLA switch to a 'paperless' VED.Never Knowingly Understood.

Cannot wait for the mad rush as they scrap the disc then a week later say oh no sorry you DO need one.
Silly idea scrapping it. So many uses. How will nosey neighbours dob their neighbours in for no tax?

How about carrying out spot checks on tyre tread depths of parked cars? You'd be making the world a safer place by reporting all the dodgy ones
