CPP - Why No Letter?

Options
I'm confused as to why CPP have not contacted me as I had their insurance on a House of Fraser card 2010 and 2011. At the time, I did try to get the insurance cancelled and told them that I already had this on my home insurance, but they told me I was too late to do it and promised they would cancel it the next year, as it was on Auto Renew.

Inevitably, it auto-renewed and I rang them once more and was really annoyed. I was told once more that I could not have a refund or cancel the insurance and that the auto renew would be cancelled. However, I subsequently just cancelled my HoF store card so that solved the issue of any failure of them to cancel the auto renew.

But they've never contacted me in reference to the latest CPP Reclaim, despite the fact they knew that I had told them I didn't need it. Is it too late for me to make a Claim? As you can imagine, I am keen to do so, given the fact that I had so much trouble with them in the first place.

Many thanks for your help.

  • Rang CPP - apparently my insurance was taken out 11/7/11 and that they had "already made amendments to the way the policies were sold" before this date and so I don't qualify and it's "out of scope".

Hopefully this will help others hoping to complain about more recent insurance sales. By 2011 the sales procedures had indeed been tightened up as the PPI debacle took hold.

Your mistake was to wait until the policy was renewed before attempting to cancel, you should have cancelled earlier if you were unhappy.

You can still make a complaint about it if you think you were mis-sold. They are just not going to contact you pro-actively.

As I did say, I attempted to cancel the insurance after it was taken it out initially and was told that I "may as well" leave it as no refund would be given and was assured by the Agent that he had adjusted it NOT to auto-renew. I did not 'make a mistake'.

You can complain about not making a mistake, but your allegations are hearsay which you cannot prove , of course.
